Having tried everything else, she turns to theinternet in a last ditch attempt to find her elusive prince.

Could a certain police officer in training, who has come to her rescue in the past, be the one to swoop in and save her heart?

What if the love Kate desperately seeks has been in front of her the whole time?

She just needs to open her eyes to see it...

*Disclaimer: This book contains a hot as hell stripper with a penchant for public sex and exhibitionism who may or may not succeed in bringing out the inner firecracker in all of us. Oh, and don't forget the batteries.*

Excerpt:

Nightdancer23: Is it wrong that I’m thinking that you, going to sleep in a cold bed, is a crime?

Fireinthesky24: Not wrong. A bit forward maybe, but I can deal with forward from a distance.

Nightdancer23: Good to hear, Firebird. Till next time *wink*

Fireinthesky24: Firebird?

Nightdancer23: Sorry, it’s just a name that came to me when I saw your photo.

Fireinthesky24: I like it :)

Well, color me pink and call me candy floss.Forward and flirty. Dammit, why isn’t Mac here to help me decipher this? She’s the queen of reading into things.

Time for bed and a romance novel to drown my sorrows in. I shuffle into my bedroom, snuggling deep under the covers with my kindle, waiting for sleep to come. Ten pages—and one sex scene later–my kindle hits me in the face as I fall asleep holding it.

Kate the dork for the win!

My Review:

4 stars

Now we get Zander's book or as I remember him, the stripper. Zander is Mac' ex sex buddy and Kate is Mac's best friend. Awkward right?!

Kate has been on several dating disasters and looking for THE ONE. I liked her except for her reaction to Zander at the end was a little over the top for me.

Zander was a sweetheart and a big softy:

I sound like a girl, but I don't care

It was a good second book and I really enjoyed the dating and internet chatting. However, I felt there was a bit too much focus on Mac and Daniel (who I love). A light enjoyable book.

Blog Tour & Review: Fighting to Forgive by J B Salsbury

Fighting to Forgive

by JB Salsbury

What do you do when everything you avoid, turns out to be exactly what you need?

Easy and predictable, just the way he likes it, Blake Daniels flies through life the way he burns through women: on his terms, no regrets. With his fighting career in full swing, he's on the threshold of title contention. But when his training is compromised by injury, the stakes grow impossibly higher. The rage that fuels his punches also chips away at his focus, and he risks losing everything he cares about. He won’t let that happen. Not again.

Layla’s through with men. After a marriage that never should’ve happened, she hopes to reclaim the pieces of the woman she lost years ago. Emotional abuse has left her insecure and terrified. A master at faking what she’s not feeling, she masks her self-doubt in false confidence. She’ll never let another man hurt her. Not again.

Chased by shadows of the past, Blake and Layla know what they don’t want, but their hearts have a different plan. As a web of lies and betrayal threatens to destroy them, they’re forced to make a choice.

Is love enough to heal even the deepest wounds?

My Review:

That feeling when I read a book and my heart is beating out my chest, I'm grinning like an idiot at the end and drooling swooning over the hero doesn't come along often. Layla moves to Vegas to build a new life for herself and her daughter. Starting a new job, let us meet 'the snake' Blake:

Some women call me fine, I prefer handsome... Sexy works too, or you can call me Blake.

I was very satisfied with the pace of their relationship. Blake had a bit of a hard past, Alpha male but cheeky and protective too.

Layla: My eyes are up here
Blake: Not looking at your eyes

I loved how Blake changed gradually from meeting him in book 1, to seeing his player ways and finally falling in love. The prologue had me intrigued but I wish his big secret was a bit more shocking.

Layla. She was a bit weak and her jumping to conclusions I could have done without. But there was a few times I found myself patting her on the back for sticking up to herself.

You think I can't handle a few naked boobs? Hate to state the obvious Blake, but that's something I see on a daily basis

I loved this as much as the first book. It is everything I love about a book, lovely romance, great storyline, yummy hero, great side characters (loved Jonah and Blake scenes), fabulous epilogue... Love this book!

My Review:

4 stars

My fourth Laura Kaye book and I enjoyed it as much as the others. Becca finds a note from her missing brother to seek help from Nick who is an ex-military.

I love Nick and I felt an instant connection with all the other side characters.

Jess: I still vote for tripod
Jeremy: or Hopalong

Compared to her other books, this book had more action/mystery/suspense. I thought it focused on the 'finding Charlie' storyline more than the romance. Not to say there wasnt any, as there was a nice amount of sexy time and the sexual tension between the two were undeniable.

If you enjoy romance withaction/suspense and great characters, I would pick this up. Looking forward to more of the series

Blog Tour Promo: Second Chance Summer by Emma Hart

SECOND CHANCE SUMMER BLURB

From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Love Game and Playing for Keeps is a story of hope and the beauty of getting a second chance at the kind of love that comes once in a lifetime…

“You don’t get a love like ours and get to leave it behind.”

Kia James was never meant to return to her hometown of Harlan Grove, Alabama… But she has.
And Reese Pembleton was definitely not supposed to still be in love with her the way she is him… But he is.

Last summer was the summer to end all summers. It was the summer they both fell in too deep to get out, and try as she might, Kia can’t deny that whatever was there between them a year ago is still there. If she’s honest with herself, there’s so much more there than there ever was, but the way her dad walked out six years ago has shattered her belief of that fairytale love every girl craves.

Reese isn’t giving up so easily. His biggest mistake was not chasing after Kia the way he wanted to when she upped and left him without a word. Despite what she says, he knows her better than anyone, and he knows she still wants him the way he wants her. And this time, nothing will stop him from getting – and keeping – his girl.

But nothing is that easy. When Kia’s dad arrives back in town, family secrets come tumbling out she never realized existed. Everything her mom has ever told her about the reason he left is a lie – but how can she trust the man who, by his own admission, didn’t fight for her as hard as he could have?

With her past and present wants and needs colliding, Kia is thrown into the turmoil of the biggest decisions of her life. And she realizes, sometimes a second chance is all you need.

SECOND CHANCE SUMMER BLOG TOUR EXCERPT

“Shit! Kia!” Reese calls after me. “I didnt mean it like that!”
I ignore him and keep walking. Step, step, step. Keep going, Kia, don’t stop for him. His hand grabs my arm, and I turn, yanking my arm back as I near where his truck is parked.
“What, Reese? Youve made it clear last summer was a mistake. Youre right. It was. It was just a whirlwind mess between two people who had no idea what they wanted from life.
“I didnt mean it like it came out. I just meant I didnt want you to hate this place because of me.”
“I dont hate it because of you.” I look at him and laugh bitterly. Shadows play across his face in the darkness. “I hate this place because of what it means to me.”
“What does it mean, Kia? Tell me.” He loosens his grip on my arm; his thumb gently stroking my skin.
“It means nothing,” I say quietly, stepping back. “Nothing.”
“Youre lying,” Reese steps closer and holds my other arm. “If it meant nothin, you wouldnt be running from me.”
“Im not running from you! Why would I be? One summerthats all we had.”
“Is it?” he asks quietly. “One summer? Is that really all we had? Do you think my feelings disappeared the way you did? Do you think they upped and went in the middle of the night just like you?
I never said that-”
‘Cause they damn well didn’t!”
Rumor has it you’re seein’ someone, or have you forgotten that?” I throw back at him.
“Maybe I don’t care about her. The person I care about is front of me.”
“After eleven months? Why don’t I believe you?”
“Let me show you. Make you believe me.”
I shake my head. “Youre so fucking funny.” I pull myself from his grip and move toward my car, passing his truck.
“Am I?” he growls, grabbing my hand and pulling me toward him. My back hits the door of his truck, and he stops in front of me. He places his hands either side of my head, his face bent into mine. “Am I funny, Kia?Really?”
My heart is pounding furiously at his nearness, and I push at his arm. My blood is thundering through my body, my breathing coming hard and fast. I can feel the warmth emanating from his body. I want more. I need more. I want to feel his body pressed against mine, even if its just for a second. I need to feel it.
His hazel eyes collide with mine, and I can see he feels the same. Its been a year. He still feels it. I stillfeel it.
“Jokes usually are funny,” I retort, trying to move away from him in an attempt to regain control of my body.
His mouth crashes into mine, his lips molding to mine. One of his hands cups the side of my head, the other resting on my waist. I grab his shirt when he nipsmy bottom lip. My mouth opens, and his tongue meets mine, stroking it in a gentle caress. Our bodies push together, and I drink him in, kissing him greedily.
Now, I remember. I remember why I canfight it. Why Im powerless. Why, at nineteen, he is all there is.
I open my eyes as our mouths part. His lips are hovering over mine, close enough they could touch mine again, but they don’t. In the small gap between usall,I feel is the chilling night air where, just seconds ago, there was nothing but heat.
“Am I funny now, Kia?” he breathes, still holding my face.
“Yep,” I whisper, my voice slightly shaky. “Youre fucking hilarious.”
Reeses hand leaves my waist and tugs the door open. “Then you better get in the truck so you can find out exactly how not funny I am.”
“Im not...”
“Get in,” he growls, his eyes promising me a fight.
“No,” I say, pushing him back. I shake my head. “No.”
“What?”
I walk around him and away from him, walkingbackward. I shake my head, everything warring inside me. “I… No, Reese. I cant.”
“Kia?” he calls.
“That…” I take a deep breath and stop at my car. “That shouldn’t have happened.”

Review: Beautifully Awake by Riley Mackenzie

4 stars

This book started off really refreshing in a hospital setting. Moody brain surgeon Doctor Chase and Lil work together at the hospital.

The writing style grabbed me. I lovedChase pre-20%. Sierra (the BFF) gave the story some light moments and I enjoyed the hospital scenes.

You're eyes still work, right? Even if your vagina's sealed shut by now

However, I thought their relationship was on fast forward, I wanted a bit more dragged out sexual tension at the beginning. Ironically towards the end I felt it could have been cut short. Also, the Dr Moody/Dr Sexy/Dr Possessive references bugged me.

This was a good start to the series and I can see potential in the series getting better. If you are looking for somethinga bit different, plenty of sexy timeand a hawt moody doctor, this would be a great choice.

Review: Catch me by Claire Contreras

4 stars

Brooklyn has a past. She starts work at her dads company and meets record producer Nick.

They had great sexual tension for half the book which I loved. The story waswell written in that we are given bits of her past and slowly piece together what happened.

I asked you who you are. I dont give a fuck about who your parents are

Unfortunately the second half wasnt as good for me and I thought a few times some parts just dragged a little.

Overall I thought it wasn't as good as her other books but still a great standalone to pick up if you enjoysexual tension and a bit of past and present.

Review: Wethering the storm by Samantha Towle

4 stars

For a sequel, I actually quite liked this continuation of Jake and Tru's story.

Storyline wise there wasn't much but after an angsty first book, I think they both deserved the happy and sexy time. Some parts especially with the band mates had me giggling.

Tom: You do still have a dick in there, don't you?

One part was heartbreaking and some parts just made my heart melt and remember just how much I adore Jake from TMS.

I begin and end with you

Overall it was a sweet sexy love story, predictable storyline and a great sequel. x

My casting:

Excerpts

“Who is that?” I asked as we watched a guy climb out of the Jeep and walk toward us.

“I have no idea, but I wouldn’t mind finding out,” Lucy replied as she stared at the new arrival with lust-filled eyes.

I squinted, trying to see him as he walked toward us. He looked vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t place him. Lucy squeezed my arm as he looked up and noticed us staring. I thought my arm was actually going to fall off when he approached us and stopped directly in front of me.

“Hi. I was wondering if you could tell me where the office is,” he said politely.

Now that I could see him up close, I understood Lucy’s excitement. Wow. Just wow. I had been ogling Todd not two seconds before, but I had to admit that this guy was far better than Todd. His hair was a shaggy mess of blond curls, and his eyes were the brightest emerald green that I had ever seen. His upper lip was a bit thin, but his bottom was full and just begging to be kissed. He was wearing a fitted polo shirt, and it stretched to its limit every time he moved due to the muscles that it was concealing. Several tattoos covered his arms, and they were a total contradiction to how he was dressed. This boy looked like a fallen angel and a surfer boy all rolled into one, and I wanted to wrap myself around him.

__________________________________________________

“So, what’s your story?” I asked, unable to stop myself.

He looked confused. “What do you mean?”

“I was just wondering where you were from.” I gestured to his tattoos. “You don’t fit the mold for most of the guys around here. Did you just move here or something?”

He hesitated for a split second before I saw determination fill his eyes. “Nope. I attended the public school across town all my life. I’m here on a scholarship. As for my tattoos, I like to be creative, and sometimes, I use my body to do it.”

I felt my cheeks turn red from embarrassment. I was sure he could get very creative with that body of his.

____________________________________________________

I pulled myself back to the present as I followed Emma down the aisle to sit with her friends. I had purposely stopped to talk to her outside this morning, hoping that she would remember me. Of course, she hadn’t, but I had been shocked at how nice she was then and again in our first period. I had expected a stuck-up bitch, but instead, she had helped me, and she’d even been friendly to me. I wasn’t sure if I liked that. I had always portrayed her as a villain in my mind, and without it there to make me see reason, I couldn’t help but notice again just how beautiful she was.

She was obviously an athlete of some kind. Her body was toned, and she had been blessed with a figure most girls could only dream of. The skin-tight shirt and shorty shorts she was wearing today did nothing to hide it, and I found myself wanting to see what was underneath. I blamed my damn teenage hormones as I tried to get a grip on myself. This would lead to nowhere, so I needed to get my head back into the game. I was here to get good grades and hopefully a scholarship, not stare at Emma’s ass like I was doing right now.

_____________________________________________________

“Likewise. Where are you from?” Sean asked.

“Public. I’m a poor bastard.” I grinned as I watched both of their mouths hang open in shock. “Don’t act so surprised. I’m sure you knew already. I know what this whole school thinks of me.”

“Actually, I haven’t heard any poor bastard comments. I have heard a lot of the girls talking about you though,” Charles said.

“Same here, and we hear everything. No one even pays attention to us, so we hear all the good gossip,” Sean added.

“They can keep talking. I’m not interested in rich bitches.”

I heard someone suck in a deep breath behind me. I turned to see Emma standing behind me with a hurt look in her eyes.

“I’m assuming you heard that?” I asked.

“I came over to see if you wanted to sit with me and my friends, but I think I have my answer.” She turned and stomped off, leaving me to feel like an ass.

I wasn’t sure why I cared that I’d made her feel bad, but I did. I was out of my chair in a flash, hurrying after her, before I even realized what I was doing.

“Emma, wait!” I yelled as I caught up to her.
